Centrify and Palo Alto Networks have announced another important integration that can help customers quickly and decisively discover anomalies that are a security threat.

Building on our past partnership, both companies collaborated anew around the Centrify Analytics Service and the Palo Alto Networks App Framework to more-readily share threat intelligence. When security stalwarts like Centrify and Palo Alto Networks combine the results are powerful for joint customers as they seek to learn, adapt, and protect themselves from active threats.

Integrating new security sensor information into modern Security Operations has become an imperative, yet it is still difficult and costly. Organizations waste time deploying new sensors every time they want to collect a new piece of data and managing point products rather than improving security controls to stay ahead of attackers.

The Palo Alto Networks Application Framework

The Palo Alto Networks Application Framework makes it easier to add new security capabilities. The framework extends the Palo Alto Networks Security Operating Platform, allowing developers like Centrify to create innovative apps with rich data, threat intelligence and enforcement points.

As Lee Klarich, chief product officer, Palo Alto Networks has said,

We are delighted to welcome Centrify to the Palo Alto Networks Application Framework developer community. The framework provides our customers with superior security through cloud-based apps developed by innovative security providers, large and small,” “Together, we are fueling innovation in the cybersecurity market with apps that are built rapidly, engineered on a common framework, and deliver unique value while solving our customers’ toughest security challenges.”

More data =  better decisions

With this new capability Centrify and its customers can utilize data and user information from the Palo Alto Networks Logging Service, which collects additional data from other sensors throughout the Palo Alto Networks Application Framework. In turn this allows Centrify Analytics Service to further build out more comprehensive user profiles and risk scores for more secure authentication and access results.

For example, Palo Alto Networks Traps™ could detect that a user downloaded malware or has a compromised system and Centrify uses that risk context to not allow that user to access resources that would be on interest to an attacker.

Here are some screen shots showing how the data is visualized in the Centrify Analytics Service.
